Just curious as I have a friend offering to sell me one. I don't really need it but it seems like a good deal at $250 for a 700 watt head.

250? get it. Working gk1001rbII, even if its beat up cosmetically. They usually go for about 400 to 550 depending on condition.

Any other thoughts? I want to grab this before he changes his mind or sells it to someone else.

Recently? I know they have been around for several years so I'm sure the value of them used has declined.

I owned one for about a year and a half. Solid amp. Modern sounding to my ears (I own an ampeg b15n and use a 370 acoustic) and loud through a lot of speakers. Pretty versatile too.

If it's in good working condition, it is a good deal.

Well I went ahead and grabbed this head and all I can say is wow! It's in great shape and everything appears to work perfectly. I almost feel bad only paying $250 for a head that still sells new for $750! I will try to get some pics up later tonight. Now I have some decisions to make regarding my rig setup.

Man--what a deal. And I'm looking for a different head, too...
Ah well. Maybe next time.

Those beasts are 94 lbs. Tilt back with wheels makes it a little more maneuverable though.

That setup would roar though.

You just robbed a bank, dude. I paid $more for mine, and I felt like *I* robbed a bank. All the head you'll ever need, if the tone works for you.
