Whats a good 215 to go with my ampeg 610?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everybody. Im currently playing an Ampeg SVT 2 Pro through an Ampeg 610 HLF cab and have been thinking about getting another 215 cabinet to put next to it. Any suggestions on a good match? There's an older peavey on craigslist right now for a pretty reasonable price....

Playing stadiums?

Anyway, the best cab to go with an Ampeg 610 is another Ampeg 610. Many will be along shortly to tell you that mixing cabs is a real crap shoot, and is more likely to sound crappy, than good.

many people here play the berggie 6x10+2x15 not so many play an other brand, why not a single 18' or an other 6x10 ampeg.

Why bother adding an 1x18?

Just get another Peg' 610.

Did anyone say "another 610" yet?

I'd upgrade to an 8x10 personally and call it a day.

Or a higher end 6x10. The Ampeg one is kind of quiet.

+1 trade the 610hlf in for an 810 and call it a day. But if you insist on adding another cab to the 610hlf, the best option would be another 610hlf. Period.

I like the 610HLF myself. I like the 810e better but I have no complaints about the 610. Anyway, it goes low enough that there's no point in adding a 215 (not that there is a point to it anyway, quite honestly), and if you match cabs you will eliminate your chances of possible phasing issues, which are very unpredictable. But the idea that 15"s go low and 10"s go high and one complements the other is what's know around here as "engineering by looks."
