What's the most I should pay

for a early 70s V4B? it's been retubed, serviced and tuned up with 6550s. is more than $600 too much?

IMHO, no. More than $800, that's riding the line? If it's in good condition it all depends on you. The sound of a mid '70's or earlier V4-B is truly a defining moment.

+1. $600 for one that's recently been worked over and is in good shape is pretty good. i don't know that i'd go $800, though.
