I have a Harke HA 3000 that apparently doubles as a radio between songs....how do I stop this other than with a sledgehammer?

I'll guess it's a grounding issue... Either your a.c. plug or you have a bad cable or jack between the bass and amp. Usually a grounding issue IME.

Perhaps a remake of "Spinal Tap"???

But seriously folks....used to happen a BUNCH back in the day with the old 2 pronged cords....don't really get why that would be a problem today, however...

Had that happen to me recently with a very high end top o' the line tube amp. Ground was good to go. But, I was on the 8th floor rehearsal rooms of a theater with sight lines to the radio towers on the adjacent hill. Once we got down on the main floor in the theater it was back to stone dead silent.

I used a power conditioner. also tried my isobar with a ground indicator and even the little magnety things that you put on the power plug. None of it helped.
