| | | | A Kustom 1x8 which, I think, is 30 watts. It has a headphone jack and an input for an ipod, so I can have my buddy put drum tracks or what have you on MP3 and then practice at home in pretty close to silence.
It's an awesome little practice amp in terms of functionality, but you can't exactly make it "thump" or "hit". Perfect for apartment living, though! |

On the rare occasion that I rehearse, I simply use my gig rig; a MB LMII atop a Berg HT112. |

Editor-in-Chief, Bass Gear Magazine | | Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: North central Ohio | | For years, it was my SWR BBII for practicing at home, but I have since taken the BBII to my office, as I often use it as a reference when reviewing new combos. Currently, I am using an iAMP 200 into a Bergantino HT110 as my personal practice rig, but in order to save a little space, I'm probably going to switch to my Phil Jones BG-150.
As for band practice, we used to practice upstairs from my office, and I'd typically play whatever rig I was reviewing at the time, but this past Winter, we moved practices to our guitar player's girlfriend's house (which is huge, and she brings us fancy snacks, like various meats/cheeses on Triscuit crackers! ). I brought my Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0/12 (with extension 1x12) over, and that's been my band practice rig ever since.

The amp section of the Hartke sounds pretty nice, but like most practice combos, the speaker is c***. With the Marshall I can get the sound of a "real" rig shile maintaining neighbour-friendly levels. |

Ampeg BA112 - bought when I was having the 110 serviced and wasn't sure that I'd get it back. Warmer and more bassy than the 110.

But more fun to play "open air" on the Hartke A100 kickback when the wife/kids don't mind a little noise!
I leave my Hartke Hydrive 4x10 at our band's space for practices (and rarely bring it home unless I need to tweak/play aaroundwith sound/tone settings).
