When to buy?

Here's the situation. I'm in the market for a Shuttle 3.0-10T combo - no particular hurry, but sooner rather than later. Right now I've got a price match offer from Musicians Friend of $524 for the combo, which from searching around seems like a good price. In fact, the offer was based on a price I found on Amazon about two days ago and that listing on Amazon is gone.

The price match offer is good for two weeks (through Jan. 3 I think). Do the online music retailers usually run any kind of after-Christmas specials that I should wait for?

I'd also consider a used combo if it gets me a lower price; right now I can't find a used one for any cheaper than I can get the new one for. Does the used gear market pick up after the holidays?

My overall question: do I bite on the deal I have now, or wait with the expectation I can do even better sometime in the next month or two?

The best time to buy from GC or Musicians friend online is when they have a 15% off coupon. You should be able to find that during Holidays, check the websites frequently and you should get emails from them like I do. I bought a brand new Fender american standard jazz 5 string for $1189 originally $1400, and a fender bassman tv 15 for $850 originally $1000... I saved $361
