When will the NEW Gallien-Krueger MB series ll combo's come out ???????????????????

Been waiting for a while (like many others here) for the NEW'est GK MB combo's,,, I also have a MB410 on pre-order with SweetWater.

SweetWater has not been able to give me a solid release date and in a reply email from GK a while back ago GK said to expect the new MB's in May or June,,,, well its past June and still no new GK's.

Yes,, I know they have been busy building their new manufacturing digs here in the state's so Im guessing things are running behind schedual,,,, Im just wondering if anyone has any new'er current info on when to expect the new'est MB's.

If "Rag" or someone else from GK wants to chime in that would be great to get info straight from the source

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Davyo

I haven’t seen any official notices - if you haven’t already, you may want to try sending Rag a private TB message also.

I'd like to know too. Pre-ordered a MB112 from MF in late May. Initial ship date was early June, then 7-6, now 7-16.

We started shipping the MB112-II last week, the other models will follow over the next 60 days.

Hey Bob,
Any thoughts as to when the MB800 Fusion might be shipping or still too early to tell?

Thank for posting Bob.

Very much looking forward to getting the new MB410 I have pre-ordered,,, might even get the new MB115 as well,,,,, and then of course I will have to get the MBP powered cabs to go along with my new MB combo's.

My music room is guna look like a GK store by the time Im done with these upcoming purchase's,, I already have the MB112, MB210, MBE115, MB200 and MB500,,, although I did sell my MB212, MBE212 and MB115 so I am tring to scale back a little.

Stop making so many great bass amps Bob,,, this is costing me a fortune

Cheers

Cool, thanks RAG.
Whelp, MF pushed back from 7-6 to 7-16 to 7-25. I suppose those that ordered before me are getting theirs first - which I guess is fair, but I WANT I WANT I WANT!

I'm just confused about something: will there be a 1x12" MBP for the new 1x12" combo?
because matching a 500W 2x12" with a 200W 1x12" doesn't seem a good idea and matching with the 15" doens't feel right either

Got one!

Finally got my GK MB112ii last night and gave it a good workout during rehearsal.
First and foremost, this new version looks hot. Much classier than the previous grey metal grill version (I have a couple other photos in the "GK club" thread). The top handle is recessed a bit into the chassis which gives it a pretty clean look. It's pretty much just a black block of an amp. Very compact and light (see attached photos for size reference).

Of course, the most important part of any amp is the sound and this thing exceeded my expectations. I've been using a 1001RBII with a DrBass 210 and 1580 (despite his D-baggery, they're still great cabs) and kinda have a grasp on how the GK preamp works (at least the RB line). The EQ stage of the MB112 seems to be tweaked a bit differently than the RB series (and also the older MB210, which I've used). Most noticeably, the high EQ was completely usable and never harsh (perhaps due to the lack of tweeter). I've heard people mention that the MB112 has been a "simple" or "bare bones" amp in terms of the features but I have to disagree. There may not be any funky "tube sim" knobs or compressor built in, but the EQ stage on this thing is very diverse and can give you anywhere between a crisp modern Wooten sound to a old-school chunky Stanley Clarke sound (sorry, I'm a jazz/funk bassist)
Instead of a adjustable contour knob, the MB112ii only has a 'on/off' button. It felt like a perfect threshold, though, and is very usable for a more modern sound. I actually preferred the have it on throughout the night, where as I never use the contour knob on the RB. The gain structure is a bit different than the RB in that there is only a "gain" control and no pre-gain/volume combo. I found that there is definitely some growl coming through the more you push the gain (or..volume in this case), which makes sense. I was running it around 'noon' and it had a nice punch to it with plenty of volume. That may also be the physics of the speaker being pushed a little, but it sounded fantastic.

The most staggering aspect about this amp is the volume. I played with a electric guitar, banjo and drummer and this thing didn't even break a sweat and I had creamy clean bass all night. I wouldn't surprise me if this thing could handle most medium sized gigs with ease. I will have to test to see where/if there is any breakup at higher volumes. It actually made me ponder the idea of selling my DrB cabs and picking up the MBE112 power ext. cab for larger gigs.

Can't wait to try some effects with it. I will chime in to my results. Envelopes seems to sound a whole lot different with certain amps so that'll be my first test. I also haven't tried the DI (which is turned around, thankfully) yet but will try to record a few tracks with it.

Hats of to GK for this beaut!

I'm having a terrible case of GAS now If there is a 112 mbp, I need to have this combo! It's just perfect for me (when it comes to combos of course)

Yes, but without them, how would the rest of us know that this is by far the most important topic on TalkBass?

I was wondering that same thing Dayvo, so I went to the source: I emailed GK with that question. I got this response within the hour:

"Jim, the MB112-II started shipping this week and the remaining models will be released through August and September if everything remains on schedule. The MB115-II will be one on the last to be released sometime near the end of September. The MBP to match should be released at the same time as the MB115-II combo. Thanks, Jason GK"

To top it off, Bob G. his own self answered this thread, too. As I get older (and how!) I gain more appreciation for that most rare of commodities: customer service. After this response, it's "GK All The Way" for me.

Now, If I can just hold out until September . . .
