Where to buy a Carvin BX 500 in USA?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, Im lookin for a Carvin BX 500, but In Germany Ive got to pay about 680$ for it, thats too much so Im looking for a shop where I can buy it and import by myselfe. Or does Carvin sells the amp in the USA only directly via internet (on their page I cant buy it outside Northamerica)?
thanks

Unless you can get to one of their stores in California, you have to mail order it online.

Carvin doesn't have any international dealers. So, if the exchange rate is the problem, there is no way around that.

They do frequently sell demo models on ebay though (maybe not that amp, since it's so new).

You can also check ebay and Talkbass classifieds for a used one. I'm pretty sure there is one on Talkbass right now.

Actually Carvin does have international dealers, look here: http://www.carvinworld.com/dealers.php?dlrctry=DE

You can order the amp in Germany from: http://www.station-music.de, or in The Netherlands: http://www.carvin.nl

Oops, I forgot that. That's probably where the OP got the too high price quote.

I guess the choices are:

1 buy through an international dealer
2 come to California to buy omne
3 have someone else buy on in the US and ship it to Germany
4 buy used.

Talk nice to somewhere here that's willing to buy it, and ship it to you, and of course you make it worth their time to do so.

You can buy the BX 500 in Germany from http://station-music.de/
In The Netherlands from http//:www.carvin.nl
In The UK from http://www.guitarsampsdrums.com/amps/carvin-bx-500.html

I payed 429 euro for the amp last year (carvin.nl). Maybe the prices are up a bit now.

Thanks to all. Yep, thats the point: In Germany they want now 550 € for that amp, thats about 660$, and Carvin offers it for 399$. In the UK shop they want 650$, and at carvin.nl I cant find it, but Ill contact them, thanks!
Im used to get prices 1:1 EUR to Dollar for US equipment, thats ok, but more than 50% higher is too much I think. I ll take a look for a used one, thats a good idea, and talkin nice also - ?

You have to also remember that the US versions won't work with European mains power (US 120V and Germany 230V). Unless Carvin uses a universal power supply like Genz Benz does.

The newer amps do.

Thing to remember is that if Carvin has set up a dealer system in Europe, the amp you get from the States may have no warranty outside of the USA. You are paying more to have local representation, a third party, who also needs to make a profit from you.

The amp is compatible to european 220V. I think the problem is, that Carvin reduced the price from 500 to 400$ (I dont know when they did it), and in Europe weve still got the old price, the world is getting closer...
