As a regular in the amps forum, I've noticed Ken hasn't posted in over a month. Very unusual.

Hope everything's ok Ken.

He moved recently to Wisconsin, so maybe that's taking up his time. He also takes a hiatus once in awhile from TB.

I seem to recall him getting a bit worn down by some of the negativity and lack of respect that occasionally flares up around TB. I hope it is a hiatus and he comes back. He is one of those guys whose opinion I truly value and can trust. And thanks to his videos and sheer volume of posts, you always know exactly where he's coming from.

Noooooo!, thats to too bad. I think I have watched every youtube video he has up, twice. I have so many questions, and hes one of the few that actually posts videos to help people. I hope he knows that for every person who is negative here on TB theres at least 3 that are positive.

Crazy me, but I like the negativity, too. But I'm used to the internet. I grew up with it. This is nothing compared to some of the stuff I've seen.

He just moved to WS, and his house was just really semi finished the end of last week. So he's had to deal with moving and contractors in the new place. I know he's still gigging thru the Summer. He did tell me he was going to "ease up" here a bit. But I enjoy his insights and I hope he doesn't abandon us. I miss him already, we use to get lunch about once a week.

I remember he did that at least once before and eventually came back, so I surely hope he does so again when he has the time. Big +1 on your comments about Ken's posts, he's a very valuable contributor. Even though my tone goals are somewhat different than his (they were very different before he got a P bass ), his reviews are written in an evenhanded way that makes them very useful to me.

Hey guys! I just ran across this thread.

No drama! As Burk posted, we are still in the middle of a move to Wisconsin and are doing a pretty major rehab of an old house.

Also, to be honest, I'm so set on my gear, and also am slowly bringing my almost 40 year gigging career to a gentle landing, that I don't feel I have a lot more to say about the stuff I own, and I'm more in selling mode than buying mode.

Finally, Talkbass was so linked to Detroit for me (since I joined shortly after moving there and met Mikebass, Burk and all my other Detroit buddies through the site), that the move kind of resulted in a sort of 'reset' for me.

Anyway, as always with me, 200 words when 20 would have sufficed

If I end up having something new and worthwhile to say about basses or amps, I'll dip in!

Ken is a role model for subsequent generations of TBers.

I really like Ken's input here in the Amps forum, he's a top guy in my estimation. Give us a shout, Ken, just so we know what's keeping you busy!

EDIT Oops, missed your post, Ken; good to hear things are fine. But forty years? Pfft, my Dad managed nearly sixty years of regular gigging. Keep at it!

I suppose I'm saying that because I've done over 30 years of gigging myself and don't want to give it up anytime soon.

Sorry you're losing your 'bass room', but hopefully you'll find some more TBrs around Sheboygan. The Wisconsin Bassists Club is lucky to have you!
