Who builds a decent amp 600 dollar range

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I have gone threw two acoustic b200 combos as one blew the speaker and the other the preamp both within a few months. So I purchased the peavey TNT 1x15 600. The cab vibrates horribly and sound like crap. I live two hours from the nearest music store and I'm getting tired of driving. Any suggestions on eliminating the vibration in the peavey cab or what unit I should purchase that has good solid construction. I am not to worried about tone as I use my effects chain for this. Thanx

Carvin is always a good buy.
They build with strong indestructible cabinets for high grade plywood.
Their amps are well designed and fool proof. A great value.
With pre-amp tube switched out or dialed back, they are relatively transparent to work great with effect chains.

For the vibration, I would verify that everything is screwed down tight and maybe add some bracing. Dowels could be used to connect the panels internally

Hartke has some HyDrive combos out, and they're all priced well. I'm actually starting to enjoy my HyDrive stuff a lot more now.

Sound like you might be pushing your gear pretty hard.

Way more than they can handle by the sound of it.

Are you in a band playing against 100 watt half stacks? Maybe end up pushing your amps too hard to keep up?

Here is a great setup for that price. I'm using it and it is great. Use the coupon code R1011, and you can get 10% off with RMC Audio. The prices are with the 10% off. The total price for this rig, shipped, is $538.20. Still leaves you with the option of adding a second cabinet to get the head down to 4 ohms.

GK MB200 -- $225

GK Neo 112-II - $314

You can add this 115 cabinet and get the whole setup for $740.70.

ANY 1x15 combo amp will be limited by the speaker. Doesn't matter how much power the amp can generate. What you want is a rig that includes a bigger speaker cab. Think 4x10 as a starting point.

You're not taking the title of the thread into consideration. What 410 can you get with a head for $600???

+ 1 Carvin stuff is top-notch for a very, very reasonable price. I really cannot foresee anything replacing my BX500 anytime soon.

If shopping used gear, plenty of choices for a decent rig around $500.

He's already had issues with Acoustic, I'm guessing he isn't going to go back with them. A 410 isn't necessary. A 210 should be plenty to move more air and sound good to boot.

If you can swing an extra hundy over the $600, I'd get an Ampeg PF350 and a PF115. It's a combo that'll take some punishment, is expandable with another cab, sounds very much like a B-15, and built very well. Of course, I would say that but it's really a fantastic rig.

+1

If you're patient, you might catch a deal to get it down $600...

What Phil Jones amp can you get for $600? The Bass Cub is like $650, and it is only 100 watts. Hardly sounds like the answer to his dilemma.
