who knows mesa boogie used prices?

Sign in to disble this ad
1st this is not a forsale ad just an advice ad

I am thinking about selling or trading my Mesa stack because I just never use it and I'm wondering if any of you who know can tell me what a fair price would be for this rig,, its a

Boogie 400+ bought brandnew 6yrs ago and played no more than 5hrs in a jam room because that was my last serious band and they broke up a week after I bought it, I'm sure someone can look inside and still see its mint, with no dust or burn marks and it has been inside my closet since in its shockcase.

so mint 400+ (have rubber feet and manual & bill of sale for 1600.00)
Mesa boogie shock mounted roadcase case got used but very very good condition, still has pouch inside and no cracks and all locks work
Mesa Powerhouse 1000 cab (not road ready) recieved used but in very good condition pretty sure theres NO tears in the tolex.

before I start putting ads up what do you folks think because I will lock on a firm price or trade value,, I have 3 other amp setups.. looking at my life right now I doubt I will ever play big outdoor shows again which is why I bought this.

From my dealings with a buddy of mine that was a Boogie dealer, I remember him being very stressed as Mesa Boogie had a strong control on their prices and what they would allow dealers to discount. I could never find reliable information on the price of their gear and the experience always left me feeling like a new car buyer waiting the sales man to come back from the manager.

The Mesa products you have are proven great pieces of gear and I think the best way for you to go about pricing them is to look at what similar gear has sold for on places like TB, Ebay, and some online bass dealers. At least you can see what people are willing to pay for them which sometimes means what they are worth.

Good luck with your search

Yeah-if it's mint, 800-1K for the head alone, a tad more for the rack. Dunno about the other items

Used is used, but for a mint 400+ you can probably get 1100 for it. And about 800 for the PH1000

You can always search classifieds here, and finished auctions at ebay for an idea of what things have *actually sold for* versus what they listed for.
I've seen both those items flip at prices from $600-$1100, depending on condition, circumstance, buyer, and how bad they wanted it...or didn't...

okay thats cool I have an idea now,,, I'm wondering that selling everything together might not even be worth it.. the head for instance even if I ask 900 the rack new costs 550.00 so maybe 1200 together. cab,,, I don't know maybe 1800 for everything and maybe a trade value of 2000 you think?

I'll see if I can score a nice vintage bass on a trade which I think would be the better deal,,, the economy is tough now and a 110lb head/rack &120lb cab isn't in too much of a demand anymore when it comes to shelling out the green anyway.

thank you all for the info on prices.

A well used 400+ with scratches and rack-rash will get 850-950 all day long. A minty one more. And you can ship that, so it should be an easy sell.

A cab on the other hand is too heavy, so you'd most likely be stuck selling it locally.
