Who makes Fearfuls?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi folks,
I have been reading about Fearfuls here for ages now. Is there anyone actually taking orders to make them? My building skills are nil. Thanks!

Any recommendations on the U.S. builders?

Leland does the flatpack kits you can assemble yourself in your living room or kitchen if you wanted. No cutting required. Kind of like buying a model airplane. Just glue it up, finish it and load the drivers/xover in. He also does complete builds.

Robby does nidacore (super lightweight). Not sure if he does the wood models.

Nidacore...How's this for lightweight? That's a 1515/66/1 by the way...

None of these builders could become authorized builder/dealers unless they came with the highest of recommendations...the thumbs up from Greenboy, deep within his mysterious mountain bunker.

You got that right. If Greenboy gave them the green light, then that's all the recommendation one needs. You can be assured that they only do top notch stuff and build it exactly to plan.

One may note that the list is more conspicuous by who's not on it than who is.

If I devoted years of my life to researching and designing a bass cab, I'd sure be real picky about how my designs were carried out too.

Neither is Burning Skies.

Add me to the list of the non-listed as well. Of course I'm not making any money from my build either.

For those readers on this quarter of the planet, I can recommend Harley Dear -- he did a great job on my BFM cab, and I will get him to build me a second as soon as I've decided I don't need to preserve my hearing. Great guy, too.

Wow, great responses. I will get the ball rolling with one or more of them soon. I need to go back and research some more. Gotta find out which driver/xover people are using. Anyone got a link to the most relevant thread?

You could always try the 11-part fEARful thread

I attempted to wade into various portions of the fearful thread and fell asleep both times. Its just so long and continuously repeats itself.

Rather than wading through all the fEARful threads, realize that the fEARful web page and the wiki have most if not all of the important info distilled into the smallest amount of reading. Any other questions can be answered by some localized and directed thread searching.

This is pretty much all one needs to know.

fEARful enclosures for bass/drums/keys

I was going to put in a cheaper mid, but the 18Sound is where its at. I bought the pre-built crossover from Leland at speakerhardware.

Once you are waiting on things, that's a good time to read/re-read the fEARful threads. A bit boring perhaps to some, but if you are interested in the design, it makes for interesting reading.
