Arrow Who mods Maxon Pedals to have a 3PDT 'Push' Type Bypass Switch?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got an AF-9 and love the pedal's sounds, but I HATE the hinged push button "plate" on/off. Also the faint red LED is pathetic at best and the pedal's power status is unrecognizable under any type of stage light.

I've seen other users running Maxon pedals that have a tall standard push botton on/off switch installed in the name plate area of the pedal for easier on/off switching. What companies offer this modification? I'd also like to have the lame LED swapped out for a brighter white or blue LED. Does the same company offer this simple service?

Thanks all!

This is a DIY mod. It removes the buffer in the signal and adds a true bypass 3PDT switch. The LED mod is also very easy to do. Get yourself a soldering iron, buy a brighter LED and change it.

Analogman, Keeley and a host of others. You can do it yourself, but soldering skills are absolutely necessary.

I'm an excellent solderer and worked at a R/C hobby shop for years.

Where can I find a guide on this modification?

My AF-9 is fairly recent, I believe the newer maxon pedals are already true bypass?
