I didn't follow the link. While $1,400 may be a screaming deal on this amp, it's clearly not "Next to nothing"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not "next to nothing". There's actually been a couple of SVT-CLs listed on my local Craigslsit for $700-$800, and I see 810e's all the time for $400-$500. A pretty OK deal, but not all that hot...
