Who's running eight drivers live?

I've been gigging with my 2 MB NY604 cabs for about 6 months and have been really pleased with the overall lows, tone and power I get from 8 6in speakers. This is the first time since I ran a 70's SVT 8X10 that I have used 8 drivers, and the clean lows this rig puts out is amazing. And it's still crisp and punchy in the mids.

Who else out there gigs in single or multi cab configurations with 8X6, 8X8, 8X10, or *shudders* 8x12 or 8x15 ?

Ampeg 810 once in awhile. But, normally I'm a 115 or 215 guy.

Unless I end up running 8x6 in the future, I don't expect to gig with an 8 speaker rig unless I buy another CTS loaded vintage 810. Not counting HF drivers, of course.

Thanks - that SR5 was a real looker, but it just didn't work out for me tonally... I ended up trading it with another TBer for a Sterling 5 HS and some cash - which worked out well for both of us...

Agreed. And a very cool picture. But I don't envy your load in/out!

I will sometimes use my Ampeg810 - but I don't push it anywhere near its capability. I just really like the tone and the huge headroom I get with it. And, oddly, I find it easier to take to a gig than my Avatar 156 as it rolls along on its own and I just lean it into my truck bed and slide in. I have never played a gig with stairs so that has never been an issue.

Thanks - and our load in/out is no biggie - our gigging backline stays in the truck between gigs, and it only takes us about 10 minutes or less... I've got a PH215 I use for side project gigs...
