| | | | WHY DO SOME BASSIST PREFER 212s INSTEAD OF A 15

I just wondering why some guys prefer 212s over a 15. I have seen on the internet, Bass players using 210s and 212s. I always thought 210s and a 15 was the going thing. I know it depends on the sound you want I guess. Who uses that rig the most with what type of music , the 210s and 212s. My cousin down by Austin went to a 210 212 rig, Ive ask him, but he said he's very new at this since he was guitar player for years. he said he would feel better if I would bring any questions up to you guys. He told me you guys help him a bunch and still do. |

| | | | Generally, a 2x12 will have more output than a single 15. If you have the right 12" speakers and the right cabinet tuning they can go pretty much as low as a well tuned 15 cabinet. Also, 2x12's will probably handle more power than a single 15. |

Also, 12's speak quicker than 15's (to me). |

They transport easy too.

For instance, my rig is 2x15+6= 36, so my rig is 1/3 better than the 2x12. Therefore I'm waaay better than a player with a 2x12.

2x12: 2 * Pi * 12^2 / 4 = 226 sq. in.
1 x 15: Pi * 15^2 / 4 = 176 sq. in.
Does it mean that 2 x 12 moves more air than 1 x 15? This is a question, not a statement.
BigOldHarry: Your COMMENT?! ;-)

EDIT:
4 x 10: 4 * Pi * 10^2 / 4 = 314 sq. in.
