Why do some brands appear more often in the for sale forum?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm curious about what other members think when they see a certain brand and/or model appear more frequently in the for sale forums?

Is it because there's just more of these particular brand/model in circulation or is it a statement about user satisfaction with a particular brand/model?

Thanks for your responses.

I think it's more a statement about the GAS of some TB'ers and their desire to constantly have the latest/greatest gear.

It's difficult to say how reflective the TB Classifieds are of the market-outside of TB.

This question is difficult to quantify since some brands are market leaders, some models are quickly discontinued, and sometimes sales occur due to a poor setup which a seller does not recognize, or otherwise take the time, or money to fix.

It's not all about price, quality of parts or workmanship, or supply & demand.

I think the TB stock is relatively unique. It is filled with high quality gear that people are simply moving to make room for the next thing. I know I have been guilty of it. For instance, I have sold on TB:

Avalon U5 (twice!)
Ampeg SVP-CL
Demeter VTBP-201S
Aguilar Tone Hammer

I would gladly own any one of these again. I just can't afford to own them all Some items get major hype before their release so there tends to be a lot of movement of that stuff. I don't think that is a reflection of quality at all, its just that there is more of it in the hands of impulse shoppers (like me

'cause some "speakers in a box with a mid hump" aren't worth the price.

+1, I'm running out of room for storage. Maybe it's time I hopped on to the class D bandwagon?
