Why isn't my ampeg 4 pro that loud anymore?

I bought my 4 pro about 5 years ago and it was badass then! Now I have to turn it up 3/4 to get through the mix and the gain has to be up farther than I would like.

Why is this?

It may be time to change the tubes.

Hi.

Different tonal requirements?

Hearing loss? (edit:Beat me to it snyderz)

Bias drift?

While a tube problem is a possibility, there's usually other symptoms as well as gain loss.

Does the heat sink(s) get hotter than usual? If they do, get it biased. Preferably by a tech.

In any case, either Jerrold or Dino or both will chime in and offer their expert opinions.

Regards
Sam
