Will 2 TC Electronic RS112s enough?

Sign in to disble this ad
So i recently moved, i couldnt bring anything but a bass, so i bought a Traynor YBA2-200 as soon as i moved here. My plan was to buy a single 112 now, and then another when i return home.

That would give me a show rig of a Traynor YBA200, and 2 RS112s.

However, all my searches in attempts to hear an RS112, or reviews on it have all ended in nothing

Does anyone have this cab? whats the typical TC electronic sound, is it warm and vintage kinda like an Orange, or more trebley and modern sounding ?

and does anyone know if 2 RS 112's would be enough to play a small show and not give speaker distortion, and be able to handle a dropped D string ?

Thanks!

2x RS112 TC Electronics - oh yes!

I have 2 x RS112 cabs. I used to have a Marshall stack with a 1 x15 and a 4 x 12, but got fed up with the bulk of it all.

Changed to an Ashdown Superfly which is a 2 x 250W amp at 4 Ohms.

I pair this with the 2 x RS112 cabs. However, since the cabs are actually 8 Ohm items, I don't get the full 2 x 250 W. I get something like 2 x 175 W or something (the actual amount you get in this config can be debated).

Anyway, it is EASILY enough for your average band. I sometimes play with one of the cabs, sometimes with two of them. Depends what the gig is.

The sound is better than ANYTHING I've ever had - and that includes my SVT with 8 x 10 that I had for a long time ....... and the whole thing goes in the back of my sports coupe in one easy trip.

In fact, if you have good speakers on your PC - have a listen to one of our recent gigs. Here:

YouTube - Dirty Booker - Live at the Tanners Arms Horsham

In this one, I'm only using one of the cabs. It's a great punchy bass sound with good deep sounds AND good clarity for the highs.

You gotta get them !!!!

Thank you. I have a touch of overdrive from a Line 6 X3 Live floor processor for that song.
