I know it will fit in the trunk of a 1980 Honda accord...it's a b1tch to get in and out but it will fit.
I also know you can fit an Ampeg V4B (huge fridge cab) in the trunk of an 88 Buick LeSabre AND an 810 in the back seat...AND 2 SVT heads and a bass in the rest of the car...hahaha...leave the girls at home...

Yeah, my 2006 Chevy Malibu couldn't handle an 8x10, and thats a fairly roomy compact car, so I'd say probably not. That's why I sold mine. That and carrying it up as little as 5 stairs was an absolute nightmare.

You assume the doors open wide enough to get it in the seat. You're probably wrong.

Create a cardboard model of an 810 and try it.

I sat in the back seat of my car with the doors closed and it measured to a few more inches than what the length of the cab is and as for depth thats not a big deal ill just move my seats up and stop sitting like i'm laying down haha

Let us know how that goes. That sucker is way heavy to be maneouvering it in through the awkward gap that is the open door....into a space which has inches to spare.

Great thread its about time , instead of the down-size nonsense "going lite" , its good to hear from real bass players. The older thread reminded me of the way I used to transport my double bass in a 1974 dodge dart. My guitarist has a pick-up truck saving my 1990 camry and my 2007 camry from major abuse.

I've gotten a 4x10 and a 2x10 in the back of my old 98 grand am coupe and I've gotten two 2x10s and a jbl monitor in the backseat of my 2010 mustang. All I can say its going to be hell getting that thing in and out of there. We have trouble getting our drummers hardware case in and out of the back seat of his forerunner, and i'm guessing a 8x10 would weight more though wouldn't have to be lifted as high.

If you not dead set on an 8x10 I would consider a different cab configuration maybe 2 4x10s or a 6x10 and a 2x10.

Since most car doors don't swing open 180-degrees, you have to factor in how your door is shaped and how far it swings open.

You can have a garage that'll hold 1,000 8x10 cabs but you'll never get them in there if the only opening is 1'x1'.

EDIT: Here's an idea...take your car down with you when you buy it. If you can get it into your car without too many shenanigans, buy it.

My Camry could fit the dimensions of an 8x10 in the back seat, but the doors don't swing open enough to allow it. It's hard enough getting my Eden 2x12 in there.

I used to transport a SWR Goliath Sr (6x10) in the back seat of a Neon. It was a total pain in the ass to get it in and out, but it fit.

i used to fit one in my dad's 76 corolla. but it was a straightback and a little shorter than the newer ones. the newer ones might be a tight fit.
