Will an Ampeg V-4 Sound Great w/ Pre-Fender SWR 6-10 ?

I(eventually) want to get an all tube head and cab that'll be a great match for a rock trio. I have a couple leads and was thinking this would be a good match to bump up a few db's without pushing the amp too hard. The guitarist plays a Marshall half stack . He plays at a good volume and sometimes Ill have no pa support at littler bars so it has to hold up in those instances. Please help Obi-One(s) !

Yes. As long as you can get the volume you need, it will probably sound great with that cab. I used mine with a variety of cabs, plenty of EQ range in there to make it work in just about every situation.

I guess that's my question . Do you think it would be loud enough based on the description of my situation ?

To compete with a guitar player you'll need 5-10 time his power level and the speakers to handle that power. if you like the sound of an overdriven amp then it might work but if you want clean that's another matter.

One person's estimate of "good volume" is not always equivalent to anyone else's. I used mine with a guitarist playing a triple rec (150 watts) or rivera M100 (100 watts) through a mesa 4x12*. I used 2x15, 6x10, 4x10, and 8x10 cabs with that head and never had a volume problem with that band. I usually go for a slightly gritty tone in a rock setting, but not over-the-top drive (and when I want/need over-the-top I use pedals) so YMMV.

I fully agree with you. The best thing would be to try it out. I know it would not work for me, I've used a lot of different 100W amps in my time, but the OP's and my goals are probably very different - as are your own.
