Will I damage my amp?

Sign in to disble this ad
Tonight at my gig I found a great overdriven tone by playing my active American p-bass deluxe in active mode and without pressing the -db switch on my SVT3 pro. I had the tube gain at about 25% and the volume on the guitar all the way up. The bass mid and treble knobs on the guitar were also at 50%.

Will this damage my amp or my 410HLF? The tone is dirty and exactly what I've been looking for. Just don't want to mess up my equipment.

Nope, should be fine as long as the distortion is coming from the preamp.

+1

Unless you dime a really hot bass, Ampeg Pro's don't sound right with the input padded. My 7 pro gets tasty around 2:30 with a 18volt bass, and no pad. The peak light gets a real workout .

I play more actives than passives, and I never use the active or padded input on any amp - it's never caused me any difficulty yet...
