Will this setup work with regards to Impedance?

I have a new head with 2x 8ohm outputs.

It's a HL500 Hartke

My cabs are both 8ohm Warrick Cabs

Wca 211
wca 115

So my question is will these cabs run ok with this head and do I run one cab from each output or run both cabs from a single output.

I'm guessing it would be 2ohm if run in series?

You could run one or the other but not both. 4+4=2. You could homemake or order a series cable. That'd put them in series giving 8.

Putting two cabs into any/all of the jacks is still parallel unless someone has rewired the cabs differently.

Added together - in parallel - so two 4 Ohm cabs divided by 2 = 2 Ohms.

You don't usually get series wiring in output or dual input jacks.

It is 2 ohms in parallel (series would be 8 ohms, and requires special wiring).

It does not matter if you run each cab off of the head, or run into one cab then "daisey chain" into the other - it is still parallel - and cannot be done on your head.

OP says both cabs are *8 ohms* cabs!! If so running both will be fine, in parallel that would give a 4 ohm load. No way to get 2 Ohms out of two 8 Ohm cabs. Assuming by "HL500" you actually meant "LH500", which is a real Hartke product. No such thing as a Hartke HL500 as far as I can tell...

About time someone noticed that. But there again the OP didn't notice this:

Me thinks the OP edited his post, coulda swore is said 4ohm the first time, hence the no/series cable answer.

Bill - I SAW he had posted 4 Ohms - and that was the value about which I posted.

Note the bottom line:::

IMO he should just read the FAQ and delete the thread entirely.

WE know about the FAQ and not that someone else won't but FAQs are a little cumbersome sometimes too.

Just saying.

And to pick up on the other (minor) query -- it doesn't matter whether you run one cab from each output on the amp head, or daisy chain one to the next (useful if your cable isn't long enough for the bottom cab).

It's always a reasonable recommendation to the OP to read the manual for the amp - cover to cover. If you don't have one, get one online.
