Williamson Amplifier (Transistor)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi
Sometime ago I came by a Williamson guitar amp.
It is transistorised, with the components on 2 paxolin-type boards (not pc-boards) plus the power-supply so I guess it's pretty old. I've no idea what the output is, but it has a Fane Titan 12" driver.
It sounds quite good so, before I carve into the case to install an FX unit, I'd quite like to find out if it's worth anything as a collectible.
I realize it's a long shot as it's probably a home-brew of some sort, but any info. would be gratefully received.
Pete,

Also look up the Heathkit W-5M amplifier, which was a Williamson design from around 1955.

Thanks for the replies, chaps:
Unfortunately, these are both tube amps, as are all the references I've been able to find.
Mine appears to be a purpose-made guitar/bass amp using transistors.
Thanks again,
Pete

I wonder if it's a house brand.

May be it was custom made by the son of William.

BTW Jeff that was the first thing that popped into my head too. A damn fine amplifier for its day and still is even today!
