Hi, i'm going to be building a pair of tl606's with eminence 3015's and i'm using winisd to see what the frequency response will be in a stock tl606. my question is about the 606's ports. do i count them as 3 seperate ports or as one port? i don't plan on using the step down feature of the 606 so i might just make is one big slit port along the bottom. any thoughts would be appreciated.

i will probably tweak the cabinet volume by a small amount to match the ideal volume for the 3015 but i shouldn't have to do too much. it's ideal volume is pretty close to that of the 606.

Lightbulb Well!

If the port tubes are the same length its really one port.

If you are already fiddling with the dimensions, I have read on here before that you should increase the size of the port by 1" in height, if port is on the bottom.

TL-606 with kappa lite 3015

I built a pair of 606/3015's. I made the port 1" bigger, 3" instead of 2". I use the step down port lid on both. Its screwed on and can be removed in a couple minutes. The port shelf per the plans.

A few of the local cab builders got together and we were able to test the modified design against the stock design. The bigger port works better with the 3015.

I did this based on passinwind's advice, he ran up the numbers on winisd. I don't have any idea how winisd works, but the Eminence site has PFD files on the 3015 with box volumes.

Feel free to pm me.

This is an easy build and the cabs sound great! About 45 lb each.

I'm into a greenboy 15/6 build at the moment, things are looking good. Its a bigger box, with the 3015LF and uses a 3" high port, with a longer (9") port shelf.
