Winter Project - AX84.com 5W Amp - Anyone built one?

I've been bored and bitten by the DIY tube amp bug this winter. Lot's of good info here but mostly about the Weber AB200 or their 6S100 which they're not shipping right now.

Before I go out an spend $500-$1000 on a real kit I've taken the tursted TB advise and purchased a AX84 kit from www.ax84.com (AKA Doberman Music). Little kit seems to have a lot of potential and gets some mad props from guitar players. Guess it similar to the Fender Champ kits. One pre tube and one pwr tube.

Wondering if anyone here has built one and if so, what mods did you incorporate for the low down bass player?

It's a single ended design similar, as you posted, to the Fender Champ. I built my first version, using a 6V6GT, when I was thirteen years old.

I applaude your going this route before trying to build a 200/300W amp. The voltages in that kind of amp are throughly lethal and need a deep understanding to handle safely.
