Wiring diagram(help) for Madison 4x10

Sign in to disble this ad
My back up cab has been fuzzy for over a year and cuts in and out.
I won't be using my Ampeg 2x15 any more at the small venues I am playing now... so time to repair the Madison.

I tried to contact the company for a wiring diagram and have only been ignored.

Half of the wires from the speakers have disconnected from the back plate where the jack is. (in my opinion it looks like who ever soldered it had no idea what they were doing)

One wire is even wrapped in electrical tape...

The 2 black completely disconnected in the front of the picture are my main concern.

ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

DON'T BUY MADISON!!!!

I'm assuming that your cab is the following:
http://www.madisonamps.com/2006%20ar...ass/mab410.htm

But based on this, the load of the speakers don't calculate correctly.
4 x 16 ohms (series) = 64 ohms -- not useful
4 x 16 ohms (parallel) = 4 ohms -- half the specification
2 x 16 ohms (series) || 2 x 16 ohms (series) = 16 ohms -- double the specification
2 x 16 ohms (parallel) + 2 x 16 ohms (parallel) = 16 ohms -- double the specification

Is there any information on the jack plate or on the L-pad?
You could just wire it like all 4x10 cabs, and just hope that the crossover is correct.

that is the correct cab. both of mine are tolex. i like the sound of the speakers but the wiring is junk in both of them, not just one. and crazy heavy... i liked my carvin cabs much better

there is nothing labeled anywhere...

is there a diagram to where they are connected on the plate?
