Wishlist: RH450 Separate Preamp and Poweramp?

Sign in to disble this ad
Last year I sold my main bass rig (purchased new in '93) as I switched to a direct system (Bose L1 Model II). I dig the RH450, but really don't need or want the power amp section.

I'd like to see TC Electronic offer a preamp-only version of the RH450. I know I could use the head DI, but I figured I could save on size, weight, electric consumption, etc. price with a preamp only.

Maybe I'm in a minority on this...?

Anyone else interested in this too?

It'd be cool. I'd consider buyin it. Too bad it's usually more expensive than a darned amp (see Markbass preamps).

I'd rather see a proper 19" rack-mount version of the RH450 with front and rear inputs (rear for wireless receiver, front to cancel out rear input when connected). I also want MIDI control for patch select, as well as modifying individual parameters via continuous controllers.
