Workingman's 10 speaker replacement recommendation for math idiot

Sign in to disble this ad
I've done a search and couldn't really find any help. Although I didn't look at all 50 pages of search results...

Just on the off chance someone might know, what's a good speaker replacement for combo speaker for the SWR Workingman's 10?

It's a great unit for me and I got it for nearly free. The Combo speaker was blown and I replaced it with a 10" neo from Austin Speaker Company. It's a great speaker, but didn't sound {to me} "as good" as the original. This company is right near to the Bass Emporium in Austin.

I also have the Workingman's 10 extension cab so I swapped out the neo for the extension cab speaker and the Workingman's 10 sounds, again to me, the way it should.

So I realize the neo speaker I have is a very good speaker (and I dont' have any of the specs on it), but would like to get a replacement 10" as close to stock as possible to what came in the Workingman's 10.

I say math idiot because I really don't get a lot of the concepts behind speaker replacement and cab size and volume and all that jazz. I know that there are a lot of TB'ers that really know this stuff and likely someone who knows about this near decade old combo.

Any SWR gurus willing to help? Thanks!

Hi.

I've had a great success with Hartke XL 10 (Eminence), and the Eminence Deltalite is said to be a direct drop in as well. I haven't tried the Deltalite yet.

Downloading WinISD (it's free) and fiddling with it, will tell You approximate results beforehand.

Regards
Sam

+1 Eminence Deltalite. Very close in comparison. Had the WM 4x10T a few years back, great cab.
