Hey everyone, hope the Holiday's went well. I figured TB would be the best place to come to ask this. Recently I found a guy selling a Backline 810BLX Bass Cabinet for $499. I did some research of my own and found very little on this cab and few reviews. It does appear to be no longer manufactured. And that it was made by Gallien-Krueger or perhaps G-K bought the Backline brand? Anyways he has it listed as a 600w cab, and 8 ohms inpedance, however I found places stating it is 4 ohms, which is correct? My current rig consists of a Peavey Tour 450 head and Fender Bassman 410 cab and if this Backline 810 is a good buy then I will upgrade to that cab. Will my Peavey Tour 450 even power this 810? Has anyone else owned or played through one of these 810's? What is everyones advice/opinion? Yay or nay on buying this Backline 810? |

I found nothing but good reviews on this cab and also can pick up one of two I found, one is $599 plus whatever shipping costs, the other is $800 but local. Whatcha think? |

As far as used 8x10 cabs go, you're probably better-off tracking down two 4x10's. There's lot's of perfectly good SWR and Eden 4x10 cabs out there that sound fine and need a good home.

Whatcha think? | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y31t...eature=related 6:07 is where they start talking about the 610 ... I think he starts playing around 7 mins ... I am glad you decided against the backline, the MESA will kill it. I suggest figuring out what the actual cost of shipping is on the $599 cab and then getting the one that is cheaper. If they end up close in price, I would get the local one as I wouldn't want to risk the cab getting dropped in transport. All the best in whatever you decide. Cheers.

Whatcha think? | if you can grab a mesa in good shape yeah...they'll smoke a lot of 8x10's i'm told, but i have yet to find a reasonably priced 8x10 around these parts to compare ....
