Worth? Music Man HD150 W/412b

Sign in to disble this ad
YES - I'm a supporting member.

First I apologize if this is out of place. But there is very limited information on how much these are going for. I have a Music Man HD 150 with a 412B cabinet. Anyone know how much this might be worth? I know they only made them for 4 years - 80 to 84.

I've seen one HD150 w/ a 412GS cabinet (I think) for sale on ebay for 1250.

Thanks in advance for any help with price.

Per forum rules you can't ask that question without being a supporting member. Ebay complete auctions are your best bet, but honestly this probably only the second time or so that I've ever seen one of those 4x12 cabs. The heads come up a lot, so you should be able to find a price for those. For what it's worth, I had an HD130 (the forerunner of the HD150) that I bought for $50 and traded (along with a 1x15) for a fender twin.

Ok Now I'm a supporting member.

Again - anyone? Worth - Nothing on ebay right now.
Very little information on the internet -

I appreciate any information (I really do). My guess is the Amp and the 412b cab is worth 1200-1500.

I think you are overestaimating the value ,I'd say 5-600.

Your prop right. I based that on the two similar head/cab google cached ads I found. I saw one custom amp/cab on ebay for 2000 - but that was some special MM factory deal. However the matched 150/412b stack is rare.

The heads trade pretty low anymore.
Last one I saw here flipped for something like $300.
The cabs, in that same $250-300 range.

Where are you located?

My Mom lives in Sante Fe.
If I were in town, I'd love to come hear that!

I used a 150HD with a RH115 and RH212 for a long time.
(I think I have the letters on the cabs right, but I might not)

Ahh SF - Great town.
Its a fantastic Amp - and its stupid loud and 100 percent original. I got lucky and found it in a pawn shop in 91. I don't play much any more and its collecting dust. I have a friend thats interested and I"m trying not to rip him and myself off. I'm sure I'll find a home for it.

I just remember not being able to afford anythinig Music Man later on. I used to drool over Fleas MM bass' -

I think you have the letters right.

Just for grins - I'll share this. My Yamaha MB-II - I think I bought this in the early 90's - 92-94?
I've never seen one since I purchased this. I love this bass and will never let it go. Not the finest made - but sounds and plays smooth.

Those amps are great. I work at a studio with a Sixty-Five HD and 212RH bottom and a 212 One-Thirty HD combo.

Both are great amps.

I think if you were here in NYC you could get about $800 for the set. Elsewhere $500-600 sounds fair.

I would sell the cab locally (pickup only) and sell the head on eBay, as you say there aren't any up and should go for around maximum... provided it's in excellent shape.
