Hello all talkbass!
I have a great opportunity to pick up a pair of EV G118 gladiator speakers. They are full range PA speakers but I'm wondering if they would work good or sound good for my bass rig. So far, i have the ad 200 orange head, I switch between my ernie ball and fender aerodyne but have always like the sound of 15" speakers over 10's. Any opinions? Any of you use 18" stand alone cabs? Thanks!

here's a link to the speakers

They're subs, you're going to need to pick up a top for mids.

Nope, they are not. The top cab in the picture is separate and you will need it as well, or something similar.

actually i just have the bottom part (subs). Thanks for the reply guys, i'm thinking about getting the epifani ps115 as a stand alone. I just could have had both subs for a quarter of the price of the epifani.

The EV has a crossover built in. You don't need a 115 for the mids and highs, a 110 would be sufficient.
