Which would be louder/sound better?

One 8x8 or one 410 and one 210 stacked?

I am running 300 watts at 4 ohms.
the 8x8 is 4 ohms, and the stack of the 410 and 210 would be a total of 4 ohms.

I am leaning toward the 8x8 route, but am also thinking the stack setup would be possibly louder?

I already have a 210 and 1x15
but am looking for a change. in the end, i'm either going to trade in both cabs for an 8x8 or just the 1x15 for a 410.
Please help me make the right decision!

I play slap n hard rock.

thanx!

The 410 should be 8 ohms and the 210 16 ohms so that all the speakers get equal power. It would be 5.33 ohms (close enough to 4.) If not, the speakers in an 8 ohm 210 would be getting twice that of those in the 8 ohm 410.

What brand - model speakers are we talking about here? You haven't provided enough information to offer a useful opinion.

Depends entirely on the specific cabs, their efficiency etc. But in *general*, the 6 10's should be louder than the 8 8's. You should test this theory before spending ANY money.

The brand of all cabs is Traynor. (the new ones.)
both ten loaded cabs are 8 ohms respectively, and the 8x8 is 4 ohms.
My head pushes 350 watts at 4 ohms. (DB300h)
I am trying to get some opinions before I spend any money, or lug em down to the store.

As has already been said; the speakers in the 2x10 will be seeing twice as many watts as the speakers in the 4x10. Not a good plan.

So better off to go with a 610 cab, or an 8x8?

Yup, or 2 410s rather than a 410 and 210.

As for how it will sound, that's something you will have to decide yourself.

Assuming the eights and tens have the same excursion limit of 4mm, which is about average, an 8x8 will have 672 cc displacement, the 6x10 816 cc. That makes the 610 louder. Chances are the 6x10 will go lower too.
