Sign in to disble this ad
The place where I play; has no windows, and everyone smokes in there all the time.
So I was thinking to bring my Mesa cab but I’m concern about the smoke.
I was thinking to get one of those BBQ covers so I could cover the whole stack
There is no way to talk to the other members cause I’m new there and they’ve been doing that for years
Plus there is another band that shares the same room so form time to time I find a beer bottle on my amp.
Any suggestions

The smoke will make the cab stink but it shouldn't be a problem.

But someone setting a drink on my amp would be a problem. |

| | | | This brings back memories! I am so used to the clubs being non-smoking now that I forgot about how my rig used to stink, my clothes would stink, and I even tested positive for nicotine as a non-smoker after playing 5-nighters in smoky bars with low ceilings bakcin the 80's.
Your cab will be fine, but it will be stinky and that is that. You'll survive too, but you're clothes will be stinky too. |

The other day I found an empty bag of peanuts.
I cant imagine someone playing bass or guitar with greasy hands from the peanuts.

It didn't and there was smoke lingering INSIDE it for a minute(that part looked cool...but it also looked like a big, fried cab) but no damage that I can see.
Heads though, might wanna not blow a fresh bong hit into 'em. |

But, it is a one-way trip. Gotta sell it to a smoker, or someone gigging, as a non-smoker doesn't want to smell it at home.

The smoke will make the cab stink but it shouldn't be a problem. | Yeah, his dad could take care of that with a bottle of Febreze.

Just keep in mind that smoke is one of the hardest smells to get off stuff; especially a big cab with lots of nooks and crannies to collect dust (and rat fur is like an odor absorber in itself). If it is around other smokey gear or a bar you won't be able to smell it at all; but once you bring the cab into a non-smokers home you will probably be asked to take it out again immediately. Resale can be affected here.

I just deal with it, comes with sacrifice for the love of playing
