I say go for it if you like the sound of the 6x10 and everything indeed checks out fine with it. Only you and your ears can decide if it is what you want though.

The specs read "4 ohm" but if you take a close look a the the back plate, it reads "8 ohm in". That clears things up, doesn't it?

Riis
That says 4 ohm in

With a head that has sufficient 'nads, 4 or 8 Ohms won't matter (my bet is it's 5.3 Ohms), regardless of what the plate says. I'd grab it if you're willing to move it.

Ok, here's the deal for those who care. I called Mesa today. What this cab is, is a 6x10 diesel that was paired with the Buster head. It's 900 watts, has EV speakers and came in 4 & 8 ohms. Mesa told me that they mix impedances of speakers and, in combination with series/parallel wiring, get the cab to the desired impedance. He said they still do this today. The cab is 8 ohm. It sounds absolutely fabulous. But it is HEAVY! So I went ahead and bought it for $375. It's a good thing my band has a helper who loads this stuff in and out for us, he's gonna kill me. I imagine using this every night and in the summer, at outside shows, adding (2) 4x10 cabs. The total impedance will be 2.6 ohms(based on calculators I used) and the Carbine M6 has provisions for a 2 ohm load. I've officially gone overboard. Billie Jean will never sound better now.Click image for larger version
