V4B is approximately 200 peak watts / 100 watts RMS

The store should have clarified the '200 watts' of course.

please...I have never heard anyone refer to a V4B as 200 watts...a loud 100 watts yes....this is clearly mislabeling from a store on 48th street that should know better.....not to mention the price!

I've seen so many falsehoods in auction listings or store labels for vintage amps. That one is rather mild compared to most. I saw a '1969' black line Ampeg SVT on eBay in April. I've seen amps that were total forgeries with fake serial tags that could have fooled anyone who's not very familiar with the real thing.

Yeah, that price on the V4B is high unless the tubes are all NOS or something. I saw a non-working V4B on eBay for $999 starting bid a few months ago. Ridiculous.

Wow. I traded my VT-22 (basically the same amp in a 212 guitar cab) for a $500 Korean Strat.

Here's another '1969' SVT. Well, at least it's a blue line era amp...not too far off.

Hmmm, looks like it hasn't been serviced ever. At least "the tubes light up."

Haven't you heard? This is the ultra rare Ampeg V48. Ampeg only made one of these, and this is it! Act quickly! Once it's gone, it's gone! Buy now, before someone else does! It's ready to rock! It has tubes! It just needs a bass player who plays a Rickenbacker 4017 bass or a Fender Precise bass.

I'd pay $500 dollars tops, maybe $550 to $600 if it was in truly pristine condition. V4's are nice, but not $900 nice.

Back in the 90s I bought a mint early 70s V4 at a Sam Ash store for $50.
I guess they're trying to make up for it now.

Bingo. It is sad they took over the block. In the '70's the block had a dozen stores with unbelievable selection of used gear. There was a store on the north side of the street next to the parking garage that had 60 feet of store front with two rows of guitars hanging in the window. It took you an hour just to figure out what they had.

Those were the days.

I used to walk past those stores on 48th street anytime I got into Manhattan. Ash, Mannys, We Buy Guitars.... Ah, the good old days...

I bet SOMEONE will buy that Rare amp! Remember what P.T. Barnum said about one being born every minute...

Bought my first B-15 new in 1966 on 48th St. (Manny's) right after visiting the factory in Linden. I was 14 and had saved up gig money to cover about half. My Dad was loaning me the rest. After visiting Linden he was so impressed we drove straight to 48th St.
