XM200 (1x15) - Which extension cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked up a Yorkville XM200 with the 15" speaker and now I'm thinking of getting an extension cabinet for it. I've seen the Yorkville XC210 and XC410 both for a pretty good price, actually for the same price each which I found a little surprising.
Now I realize the 410 is more for the money but will it sound that much better with just the XM200 driving it? In other words is it too much speaker for the amp? Would I notice the difference over the 210?
The benefit of the 210 is it's lighter and would stack on top of the XM200 a little easier. Not sure if I want the 90 lbs of the 410 sitting on top of the XM200.

Thoughts?

I have one for sale PM me if you're interested. XC115XC. Would like it to go to someone with this great combo. Stacks perfectly and is a great looking stack.

Thanks for the offer but I'm trying to get input on how well the 210 or 410 would work with the xm200. The 410 is 8 ohms I believe and I'd have to look up the impedance of the 15 in the combo.

The xc115 would be your best bet IMO. I had the stack a few years back. Only does 200 watts at "minimum impedance" which is 2 ohms. Nice sounding rig but not enough power to light up a conventional 2 X 10 or 4 X 10.

Yes, the matching 115 is the BEST pairing you could hope for.

And just hours after I posted this, someone called on my month-old Craigslist post and came by and bought the whole rig.

You need a 4 ohm setup. 2 Yorkville 210s or any of the XC series will do.
your amp works down to a 2 ohm load.
