Looking forward to your impressions of the 215. Have fun @ Daytona. Quote:

So if he thought he was "all that" I am sure he would have said "you can ditch the box cause you will love it".
With the sound of the 2 being so similar the size and weight becomes the advantage ... However if you play a 5 string the 212cf wins... Why you ask? Because it doesn't have quite the boom so notes below "E" are tight... Any questions? Now as far as the chart goes... Nick I don't care what the chart says or if you used an etch-a-sketch to design it...or if you went to a paranormal ... It kicks. Y'all want to try it? You have 72 hours to see that the chart is wrong. |

I was unaware the older GB212t used Eminence | I think you are confusing people because GB changed the model name when they upgraded (or redesigned) it from NeoX-212T to NX2-212T.

So one person likes it and one person doesn't. Nothing new there. The problem is that it seems it's the folks who like physics are the ones who are always barging into other threads wearing their design patrol badges attacking things they wouldn't personally like as if they have a mandate to protect the masses from themselves.
I HATE the sound of fearful cabinets for bass. I have never once barged into a thread to say that where people where discussing how great they are. I don't care what the science is behind them. I agree it looks great on paper. I can't stand that type of thing as a bass player. I do however like a wide range of cabinets with various types of character. I'm sure the science could help explain why, but I don't need some TB person telling me that the science behind the cabs I like is poor. It does me no good, and it just gets tiring. | Excellent summation of what's been rampant around here for a while now. |

It can do a lot for convenience and they seemed OK for stuff up about a lightweight neo 112 cab. Beyond that, they are too flimsy/weak metal for rigorous use. Didn't have too much trouble with rattles with good mounting on a solid cab, they're just not sturdy enough to get slammed over curbs, thrown in a truck, etc. If you want to persue it, come up with your own solid design for your cabs and contract out to a local metal fab shop or something.
Once you mount the handle system on the back of the cab, you'll find cutting the wheel mounts into the cab to make for good balance at the carry angle and having skid rails that stick put a little farther than the handle hardware for dragging it up stairs are a must to make a good system. Can add a good bit of cost to the build. Worth messing with for the DIY'er. For a business, you'd need a really good design and a hard sell to recoup the cost. At least if you want to make it good and not just slap a luggage handle on the back that will fail and make your product seem "cheap". I doubt that's something any of the builders here would let themselves be associated with....more of a "cheap add-on" a big company would do that doesn't care what happens to it after the initial purchase.
It's weird how much thought and design has to go into making a good, sturdy, long term reliable handle in that design....I know, I've tried. Much easier to just recommend a collapsible dolly. For my next trick, I'm goimg to saw the handle portion off said collapsible dolly and try mounting that to the cab. |

Perhaps I will have the first line of "offroad cabs", where you have to check the air in your tires. Working on an HF driver that lets you check your oil too. |
