yet another ohm/wattage question

Sign in to disble this ad
I was thinking about throwing together a mini-rig consisting of either a GB shuttle 6.0/9.0 and a couple Berg HT112ERs. so in theory the amp would be splitting the 600 watts @ 4ohms...300 watts to each 8ohm cab, correct? thats fine and dandy cuz the cabs are rated at what, like 350watts a piece. so my question is if the shuttle 9 would be completely overpowering the cabs (450 watts to each cab)? would it be wise just to stick with the shuttle 6? i def. don't need to be pushing 4x10s or anything so I think the 9.0 would be overkill. thanks

if wattage was the only factor, i'd say stick with the 6.0. and me being cheap i almost definitely would stick with it. but i hear the 9.0 has a different sound and feel from the 6.0. might appeal to you, might not. but if it does and you can keep the volume down below the speakers' boiling point, you should be fine.
