Yorkville 400B EQ or Compressor

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys. I've recently picked up a Yorkville 400B amp with the 15" speaker. 10 band EQ and all. I'm mainly using it in a Church P&W team and we play a lot of the new stuff by Chris Tomlin, Israel Hooten....etc. Anyway, with this style of music there are parts that are played softly, some heavier but with a mellow, deep bass tone and occasionally a slap line thrown in....and sometimes all in the same song. For anyone with this type of amp that plays a similar style, how do you set your EQ? Pictures of your EQ settings would be appreciated.

On the other hand, I also have a DOD compressor pedal that I don't use. Would I be better off setting the EQ where it sounds good for regular finger style and using the compressor to cut the loudness at the time a slap/pop line comes in. It just sounds really harsh at times when coming out of a mellow part into a nice slap/pop line.

Any help would be appreciated.
