what do i like about it ??
i love the tone of the Bassman ...
the Bergs' are the finest sounding cabs i've ever played thru ...
and the total weight of this rig is very manageable ,
especially with my hand truck ...

what would i change about it ???

Love the power and wide range of "tones" I can get from it.
Change? Rack on the way and I wish I didn't still need the 800rb for stage fill on outside gigs, but I don't have to go through the PA now.

Is the GK 4x12 a stereo cabinet? Can you send different amplifiers to each 2x12 section?

No it is a single input cab 4 ohm. I use a 115 or 215 from the 800rb for the other side of the stage fed from the Fusion's effects send.

Some day going to run the 215 and 115 with a 410 from the 800rb as well just to hear the guitarists whine.

Depending on what gig I'm playing, I've got 3 gig rigs.

Carvin SBR1018 (BX1200 head, BR410, BR118 cabs)

Carvin SBX410 (BX1200 head, BRX10.4 cab, 1,200 watts rms @ 4 ohms)

Carvin BX500 head, BRX10.4 cab (500 watts rms @ 4 ohms)

Carvin's new DCM power amps are absolutely killer, excellent for their power and reliability.

As far as my amp and cabs go, I've been using the Carvin gear since Jan '07' and have played hundreds of gigs in that time with absolutely no problems whatsoever. They have more than enough headroom that I would ever need. The BX1200 has alot of eq options and does take some time to get settled in, but once you've established your sound your set. The BRX10.4 neo cab is a monster, only 76 lbs but has incredible dynamic range. It's got to be one of the best values out there. I don't know anyone who's played thru the BRX series that's ever said anything but good about those cabs and drivers. Supposably, they use B & C drivers. I've checked them out and they look exactly like B & C drivers, if not then there still excellent speakers for the money. Needless to say I've been very pleased with the performance of my Carvin gear.

Gig rig, practice rig, session rig, you name it.
I also have a few smaller cabs but this is the every-day-rig.

Tecamp Puma 500 in to a M212 (4ohms)
I like it because it is very clean and brutally honest. The head goes in to my gig bag, and i can take the cab in one hand. Easy living!
It is also very very loud.
I had a EBS 810 for a while, and this thing is louder.

Here's what I've been using lately:

Yamaha PB-1 preamp -> Yamaha CP2000 power amp -> EA CX-310 cab.

I get a good full, punchy tone that cuts through real well.

Thunderfunk 420 into an Epifani T-112.

At some point, I'll add another T-112 just to add more meat for the bigger rooms. The rig as it stands is great for the mix of Jazz and corporate work I do.

my "gig rig" that i've been using lately (Ampeg SVT-VR with a 1970 Ampeg V4 guitar cab loaded with four Eminence Deltalite 2512-II's with ally dust caps (wired to 2 ohms) . it sounds huge and punchy and i really couldn't be happier with it).:

I have an EA iAmp-600 that needs some work.
I really love the tone of the 600 w/the CX-310 (I haven't heard the iAmp-800 which some people consider sounds 'sterile' -- the 600 definitely doesn't, but I wish it had about twice the wattage that it does).
The CP2000 give 450W @ 8 ohm using one channel or 1300W @ 8 ohm if I bridge it, so I can play outdoor gigs or really big venues with that.
