| | All bass, no talent! Me endorsed? | | Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada | | I am soooooo done with amp/cab GAS. this rig just kills everything else I have played over the last 25+ years.
This is my gigging rig with the Mesa D180 thrown in just for a photo opp. For super big outdoor gigs or very large rooms, I have a Sadowsky (Berg) SA410 I an pair with the 2 Berg AE210s.
It is:
Jule Monique preamp
Crest ProLite 2.0 poweramp
1 or 2 Bergantino AE210 cabs
MTD 535
Spector Forte 5

That setup looks massive! |

Makes every electric bass put through it sound 'present'... If I had a real opportunity to expand this rig it'd be with a 2x10 box or something smaller still... Just a little more focused air movement, you know what I mean? 15s are beautiful though...
Been using a Eden Nemesis ENX260 and either an Eden 1x10 or 1x12 for upright gigs (both little cabs if I'm doubling). |

That setup looks massive! | That is my stereo rig.
I use two GK 700RB II's feeding two Mesa PW212's.
My Jazz Basses are wired for true (Rickenbacker style) stereo (the lower output jack is the stereo out and the upper output jack (where the tone pot used to be) is standard mono)........each pickup goes to a seperate amp and cab. The GK on the top is for the lower cab which is the neck pickup, runs clean and the GK below the other one is for the top cab and the bridge pickup, that also contains the effects. The effects chain is a Peterson StompClassic Strobo Tuner, Darkglass B3K Bass Overdrive, HAZ Mutron III, Boss CEB Bass Chorus and a Bodd DD-6 Digital Delay all powered with a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power ISO 5.
The rig is pretty massive and the ability to split the pickups to seperate amps is the key.

Still honeymooning with the current setup. Not with the Ampeg cab at the same time though, that'd just be silly. |

As far as my amp and cabs go, I've been using the Carvin gear since Jan '07' and have played hundreds of gigs in that time with absolutely no problems whatsoever. They have more than enough headroom that I would ever need. The BX1200 has alot of eq options and does take some time to get settled in, but once you've established your sound your set. The BRX10.4 neo cab is a monster, only 76 lbs but has incredible dynamic range. It's got to be one of the best values out there. I don't know anyone who's played thru the BRX series that's ever said anything but good about those cabs and drivers. Supposably, they use B & C drivers. I've checked them out and they look exactly like B & C drivers, if not then there still excellent speakers for the money. Needless to say I've been very pleased with the performance of my Carvin gear. | Yeah, I use a BX-1200 as part of a bi-amped rig and it does have many tonal options -a great amp |
