My V4B (a 1974 I believe) sounds killer with any cab I've paired it with, but I'm still looking for that "something special" to go with it, you know?
The Valve Jr. was kind of a novelty, but actually makes a darn good practice amp. I tried it out in the shop with an Ampeg SVT210 and it sounds great... I've been meaning to pick up the MicroVR stack for a while, so that's probably what I'd pair the VJr. with in the end. You wouldn't rock any stadiums with that little guy, but it's enough to make some noise!

I don't have this one anymore:
At one time it looked like this:
Still have these though:
Nowadays I have this...I think it counts, since because the preamp has 2 Sylvania 12AX7's and a JAN 12AU7.
Sounds better and more 'tubey' than the Mesa ever sounded.

I haven't owned one, but did a tour with a dynamic singer/songwriter act that had one. It was the perfect amp for the gig! If I get a third Buster, it'll be the 2x10! |
