Two things that caught my eye on the Standard / Standard Plus list; One, Both list Hipshot "A Style" bridges. Are you guys going back to the A and no longer using the B, or is that simply a typo?

AND

Two, The new J/MM configuration. When Will we see it?

God Bless, Ray

Dammit!

Need to correct that, stat! Sorry, the "A" on Standard-Standard Plus is not the correct info, new stuff upcoming!

There will be an "M" soon...

Interesting that the upcharge for the JJ pickups has been dropped and the standard pricing hasn't changed. I guess the early adopters cover the retooling costs for new ideas such as this.

Either way the good news for everyone is that base prices haven't changed and new options are available. I can't wait to see what you guys crank out this year

I sorta knew that was indeed the case.

Jeff, I highly doubt the JJ pricing decrease has anything to do with early adopters covering the retooling costs. In actuality what I'd bet you're seeing in a price difference is Roscoe in the beginning buying only a few sets of JJ pickups at a higher per unit rate to "test" the viability of the JJ option. Now that the option has indeed become a success they were able to buy multiple sets at a lower per unit rate. The GOOD news is they're passing those savings to us, their customer base.

I don't mean this in a negative way toward Roscoe, but the JJ pickups don't cost $200 in total bought aftermarket. As with anything, most of the cost is in the labour. We all know that a Roscoe is not made of thousands of dollars of wood and electronics, but we happily pay that for the fantastic work that goes into turning those materials into basses.

You got that right. Attention to detail and excellence is worth paying for.

One thing this latest development has led to is most likely one bass idea in my head turning into two. I'll still probably only be able to order one this year... but who knows. Either way I'm sure the folks at Roscoe will be happy to make as many basses as I like

No trouble, it's like getting any other switching system on a custom order: $75 retail for the switch.

I'm almost glad you said that. I must say, the fact that you have not raised the prices of the various models in years is commendable! It shows you are conscious of the needs of your clients.

Question for Gard: is the only way to get a gloss finish bass to order a Custom/Signature model? Is gloss on a Standard model like black hardware, a complete non-option or can it be done at a cost? Same on a Standard Plus?

No option for gloss finish on a Standard or Standard Plus, sorry Jeff. That defeats the idea of keeping it as simple and straightforward as possible, and would totally skew the pricing to the point that you'd be paying as much for a Standard/Standard Plus as you would a "basic" Custom....

Understandable. It's just so hard to keep a Custom model "basic" once you open it up to the full spectrum of options

It's all good. It just means it will have to be a Custom model
