3.3.10 Standard Plus Body Blanks

Hey y'all, we just got some Standard Plus body blanks glued up, and I figured that we'd share the photos with everyone!

First up, a pair of madrone burl tops, one of which has already been reserved by a dealer (the 2nd one):

I'm really diggin' the 2nd ziracote and the bubinga blanks, although I am sure they will all be killer in the end.

Now what dealer would possible want an over the top piece of bubinga like that?

That will make a very nice looking CS bass!

...of course the myrtle burl will too!

I'll confess - I went with Madrone Burl #2. I considered the Bubinga, but I couldn't sell myself on that much sapwood... it was mighty close, though, that is a gorgeous piece of wood.

Yeah I'm with you on that Greg... That top came past my desk when I was speccing out my new bass and although I love that wavy bubinga with the sapwood look, there's just a tad too much of the sapwood in there.

In the end the choice was made for me as it was only thick enough for a century standard plus which led me to a particularly tasty piece of Koa!

Still, i'm really keen to see this one finished!

Nothing wrong with that choice! That is a killer piece too. I actually typically prefer a bit more symetry in my tops but for some reason the bubinga piece just really caught my eyes!

I really like the CS Plus (or +) idea. They look awesome.

Did I ever suggest Black hardware?

I know, just buy a box of Sharpies!
