Well, I finally got my first Roscoe today!

It is an SKB-3005 serial number 4486.

I know this bass has been in several tber's hands including CrashClint, Alphaman, Saluki, and ivlucas, but I think it has found a permanent home.

Here are the specs:

Ash body
Standard Maple/Purpleheart Neck
Pau Ferro Fretboard
Hipshot/Roscoe "A" Style Bridge
Gotoh Tuners
Bartolini CB Pickups
Glockenklang Preamp
White finish

I restrung it with Black Beauties, cleaned and oiled the fretboard, cleaned the body, neck and headstock, and took some pics.

So far I LOVE this bass. The neck is fantastic, the string spacing is perfect, the scale is my fav. Also, it balances superbly, and of course, like any Roscoe, it sounds phenomenal.

One thing about this bass that is super cool is that I have the action pretty low, and I can still play it. Most basses I have to put medium action on with the same/similar strings, but not this one.

It may not be the fanciest of Roscoe basses, looks wise, but it is still beautiful and very unique.

I am one happy camper today, but now, I want another one.

Justin

That is absolutely elegant! Black Beauties look like they were made for this bass.. Wow!

I love how the solid color really shows off the stunning lines of the LG. The top on mine pretty much hides all of that.

Beautiful bass, bro! Welcome to the wonderful world of Roscoe!

It's so strange to see a Roscoe with just a white painted body, but after looking at it for a few seconds, I really, really like it! The Black Beauties also add a lot to the looks too.

Enjoy!!!

Cool! I remember that one.

That's probably the only solid color that I could like on a Roscoe. That would be the perfect bass to use in a band that plays weddings! For some reason I think of the movie "The Wedding Singer" when I see it.

I love the way the black hardware and strings look on it. Very classy!

Thanks Guys!

I really am enamored with this bass. It is just what I have been looking for in a 5.

Joe, I guess thanks. Funny thing about the Wedding Singer. A few months ago I played the song from the end of the movie for church (it related to the sermon series). I believe it is called "I Wanna Grow Old With Your" the one on the plane.

Lost track of this one, did someone change the stock Barts for Bart Classics along the way?

I installed the Glockenklang. The knobs came from none other that Rocket Music!

Those strings add a very nice touch to that bass! Great! Saluki added the Bart CB's to it just before he hand delivered it along with another Roscoe to me. This bass has a very nice tone and the neck, like all Roscoes, is fantastic! Enjoy! Cheers!

ETA: Justin, I sent her out there just this week and you didn't waste time spreading her out on your bed taking Playboy shots! Enjoy her, but take it easy on her!

Hey, I got hounded to put up some pics during the build of my CB Rami, now gone, so I learned to take pictures fast.

Plus, how could I resist with such a great bass!

Oh, it was a compliment! I guess that I meant that it just has a real formal look to it.
I really though hard about purchasing that Roscoe from Clint when he had it.

I bet it sounds great with the CBs, the standard Roscoe Barts were just a little too compressed for that bass. It is just an awesome looking bass, I really liked the white. This is the mime bass. I wouldn't mind having a Century Standard four string in white with an Alder body and black hardware... .

If I were to play and hit the lottery I think I would have quite a collection of Roscoe Basses. I would have to take the Poacher title away from Databass5.

Well guys and gals,

I got my first chance to actually play this thing in a live mix last night, and it was just killer!

It is also the easiest playing 5-string bass I have ever played, so I am a pretty happy camper right now.

Also, thanks for all of the nice comments everyone.

Justin

It's always good to see someone having a good honeymoon with their new bass!

Besides the black strings (which look very tough), I like the richer color the fingerboard has since you cleaned and oiled the fretboard. It gives the instrument a more elegant (rather than "neglected") look.

Congrats!

Well, unfortunately, do to some sudden family issues, I will no longer own this beauty. I will however, some day, own another Roscoe.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys, and when the soon to be new owner gets this bass, if he chooses to post about it, I hope you extend the same kindness and joking to him.

Peace,
Justin

Sorry to hear that you had to get rid of the bass Justin. I hope you're able to pick up another Roscoe very soon. I will pray for you and your family.
