Man, I'm glad some guys are "getting" this one. It's not an "over the top" top, but it's very subtle and beautiful, there is some very pretty but subdued flame along the edges of the top, and the whole thing just "works" together...it also played and sounded amazing...just a great fretless.

I love it. I was going to ask for your thoughts on myrtle over Spanish cedar, but it sounds like you've covered it. I'm guessing nice, warm, sweet, emphasis on decay over attack, but with some bite from the Aguilar and the diamondwood board?

Anyway, it's a gorgeous instrument! From a playability standpoint, I just love SKB five string basses. As much as I love my six, I don't know that there's a better feeling fiver out there. I'd never paid much attention to myrtle until seeing my bass at my local store...and just falling in love with it. From an aesthetic standpoint, I love the subtle beauty of it.
