Somebody's sportin' a mighty fine bass...
I'll bet it plays like buttah.
Do you make a lot of Alder Body beauties like this one? |

Steve513 | Hey Steve,
I gotta fess up.
This delightful darling is my very own. You hit it right on. The voice on this bass is unreal. Everyone that's heard it has been impressed, some to the point of wanting to buy if off me right on the spot for full-pop retail.
If anyone is thinking about getting Keith to build a custom ax, I would confidently recommend this combination or at least ponder an Alder body.
Have a stellar,
Doug
Gard- Thanks again for posting the pics as my camera has gone totally chinwah.

Outstanding..
The Marilyn series MTD's were also chambered. Added a lot more depth to the tone and vastly increased sustain IMO. I'd really love to hear the variety and quality of tone you'll be getting out of that bass. I'm positive it's stunning at the very least.
Again, congratulations on your owning one very fine bass.
Can you imagine what a Roscoe 12 string fretless with the Alder/Redwood combo would sound like????
There I go off into fantasy land again. |

Yessiree,
I think everyone would melt at the sound of her voice. Warm and so well defined. I think the neck woods add to tone as well as being stunning.
#5850 won't likely ever be sold. I might give it to Youngs if he promises to legally adopt me.
Come on fellas, give ole Gard a call and get yourself an Alder body, wedge neck beauty queen to have and to hold from that day forth!
I am blessed,
Doug |

Doug | Still a gorgeous bass! I got a whole new perspective on it from our phone call earlier today. . .
. . . Youngs, you can't have it if he sells. I offered him $1,000,000 + use of a Charvelle.

Hey Data,
Is it even possible Youngs doesn't ALREADY have an Alder body SKB?!
Wow! Gard might as well give him a call with a production line sheet and a deposit invoice.
BTW- Is that by chance a genuine custom Charvel you were offering? You shouldn't tempt me like that.

Hey man,
How's everything?
No, sorry, I sure don't. I really just play at church and haven't recorded anything nor would I have something available that would do that bass justice.
Although the Redwood burl/Alder body is no doubt a big part, I can't help to think the addition of that Wenge wedge neck with the Mac Ebony fingerboard compliments what's going on in a marvelous way.
One thing's for sure, if I were going to do another bass those would absolutely be my wood combinations. I frankly am very surprised there aren't a larger number of Roscoe's built to those specs...it's probably all Gard's fault.
But in the spirit of fairness we should give ole Gard a chance to explain why this dynamite material combo has been withheld from the proletariat at large.
Have a swell day,
Doug

I thought this was a family safe room, but OBVIOUSLY I was wrong.
I just can't BELIEVE that you are talking about things like
Gard's Large proletariat.
For SHAME!!!!!!
