| Yep...decided to do something new and somewhat unique for Roscoe this time. I've been wanting to do a walnut project for a long time, and since doing a handful of 3-piece topped basses several years ago, I've been thinking about doing a "faux neck through" on an SKB.
While my fellow Roscoeheads will be the ultimate judge, I happen to think that the ole' "faux five" turned out pretty well! |

He totally embraced the concept and I think you can see in the photos he NAILED the width and angle of the lamination. It's dead on the correct width at the neck pocket, and the angle follows the taper of the neck perfectly.
The guys that work here are ALL freaking geniuses at this stuff!

I totally dig the neck-thru look, and I really love the Roscoe gang's take on walnut - the gloss of the finish is just stunning. This one is truly a piece of art...kudos to everyone involved, from imagination to execution.
If you need me, I'll be over here in the corner, chanting my mantra... "Thank goodness this isn't a six-string bass. Thank goodness this isn't a six-string bass..." |

If the boss' lottery ticket cashes in, I will be chatting with our man in NorCal about mating the terms, "Roscoe," and, "walnut." Which, coming from me...the last person to consider a custom order of any type...is hopefully taken as the high praise duly intended. |
