Spalted purpleheart is schweet, so is ebony w/ sapwood, so are Roscoe Basses.

every time I see the spalted purpleheart fingerboard, I always wonder what it would look or sound like to see a light purpleheart tone wood between a maple top and a spanish cedar body.

What a fantastic looking instrument...I love it! And that purpleheart....just like mine.

My first SKB had maple over spanish cedar, and I was amazed at the tone. I expected it to be a bit soft, and boy was I wrong.
